Who's a bitch?
Jul. 17th, 2003 03:07 pmNo matter where my adventures take me on the internet, I can never seem to avoid getting into bitchfights with complete strangers. I thought nothing could beat the silliness of the Roswell fan wars. But now as I grow older and more mature, it happens over nothing at all. Sorry
cynima, I seem to be a magnet for bad internet energy. Maybe part of the reason is my feeling that people on the internet who I have never met are not "real" and therefore I don't care whose feelings I hurt. Which is not to say that I don't adore some of the people that I know only through the computer, like
bettebauer. Even
queenkakia and I overcame our differences and happily coexist. ;-) But I always seem to get into fights with complete strangers. Anger management issues, I guess. I do need to work on that.
In my life outside the box,
cynima and I went to this Jewish social event last night where a rabbi tried to give a speech on Jews and Hollywood. He based his speech around Charlotte's recent conversion on Sex and the City, and did make some interesting points concerning how Jewishness is shown on TV and in movies. But the poor guy made the terrible mistake of never having even seen the episode. And he was nervous. First he butchered Groucho Marx's famous quote, saying instead: "I wouldn't want to be in a club that wouldn't have me." Ouch. Then he went on to declare that Charlotte's boyfriend left her because she had become too religious for him. Exsqueeze me? That is so not what happened. I wanted to stand up and start yelling at the guy, but I didn't. I reserve that kind of thing for Yahoogroups and Livejournals. :-b
Bill and I are going to visit our friend Diane in Virginia this weekend. He's picking me up at 5 am tomorrow and we're driving down. I hope we pass a Cracker Barrel somewhere along the way. It's been too long since I had biscuits and gravy!
