Sheddueling
Aug. 4th, 2003 03:51 pmEven though there's still at least a month to go before Ally's wedding and my trip to Scotland, it feels like we're coming down to the wire. I just found out I'm going to have to take off work the day before the wedding because of a 4:30 rehearsal (I never knew there actually was a rehearsal before a rehersal dinner, ha.) This means I am taking off a total of 12 days in September. Then of course in the month leading to up to Ally's wedding, she's got to have rituals on top of rituals (Ally's Aphrodite rit and the overnight pre-handfasting camp-out). The plan for a bachelorette party has been all but scrapped since no one is going to be able to get together and plan the thing beforehand. I mentioned yesterday that it would be cool to get Ally a female stripper (she specifically requested no male stripper) and she was totally into it. It's a fun idea but there's no way we'd be able to afford it or plan it now.
And of course August is the month when everyone is either going on vacation, or entertaining relatives who are in town on vacation, or subbing for aerobics instructors on vacation, so planning our work schedule has not been fun. cynima, when are you leaving again? Your trip must be coming up soon too, I totally forgot!)
I haven't heard from the apartment guy since last Wednesday, but if that does work out (and I'd really be happy if it did) that means I get to add the fun of *moving* to this already insane list of things to do. But I'll worry about that when and if I get there. Thank goodness we get a 5-day Labor Day weekend.
My trip to Scotland is almost all set though, all reservations have been made (except for my last 3 nights alone, which are kind of my wild card adventure days). I just have to figure out what I'm bringing luggage-wise. My LL Bean pack isn't going to be big enough, but I don't want to spend a ton of money on a crazy huge backpacking-thru-Europe pack.
