Red velvety goodness
Aug. 14th, 2003 01:24 pmI just ruined my appetite for lunch (in a good way) by eating a delectable red velvet cupcake from Olive's. The icing on it was insane, it was like pure butter.
I am feeling pretty great today despite the fact that I got much less sleep than usual. Last night was Ally's Aphrodite ritual (something we pagans like to do for women who are about to get married.) It was a beautiful ritual, a little less regimented and more casual than the Artemisia ones I am used to, but it was less stressful that way so it was good. I made a spice cake that Phyllis' dog Webster helped himself to when we weren't looking. It was okay though, he only ate the top part of half the cake. :-) What sucked was getting home from Astoria. I thought I was saving myself a train connection by taking the N back into Manhattan, but then the stupid ass R wasn't running, and it ended up taking me 3 trains and a cab to get home. Then the cab driver tried to ask me out the whole way home and missed my turn, causing the toll to be $1 higher than usual. No, I don't want to go out with you, you creepy ugly old man! Now stop here and let me out!
I am thrilled that
cynima got that last minute ticket to see her idol, Liz Phair. You totally deserved it!
Now I'm supposed to meet Ally and Denise to go wedding make-up shopping at Sephora. It's a gorgeous day outside. Everyone try to get out and enjoy it!
