Well, here it be. Everyone is writing about how the 2nd anniversary of 9/11 is hitting them, and I've been so distracted with packing and the wedding and everything else... and I'm so glad for it. I'm staying away from TV and I'm not reading the news. I've come a long way since 9/11/01 and while the memory is still terrifying and horrible I'm not going to let the terrorists win again by making me cry, by making me scared, by keeping me from going on vacation tomorrow. FUCK YOU, TERRORISTS! KISS MY WHITE AMERICAN ASS!

This song always makes me feel like everything's going to be alright.

Not only did I turn the TV on this morning (to get the weather, but of course no one is doing weather this morning) but I can't even open up my browser without being assaulted by headlines ("U.S. warns of al-Qaida attacks on 9/11" -- can we join together in a group DUH??). I turned to New York 1 just in time, in fact, to hear my dad's cousin's name get read: Robert Patrick Caufield. I don't think I ever met him. We were only related by marriage, anyway. The only other people I sort-of knew who died were Paul Battaglia, who I went to college with and who was GM of WHRW, and Lonnie Stone, who used to be [livejournal.com profile] cynima's next door neighbor. I agree with you about the media, [livejournal.com profile] chisaiboo. I fucking hate the media and I'm so glad I didn't end up working at a newspaper. It makes me sick seeing the way the papers play right to the terrorists, spreading the terror far and wide with their alarmist headlines -- all because it sells more papers. It's disgusting. And don't even get me started on this farce of a color-coded terror alert system. It sounds like a joke you'd hear on Letterman or something, and it's just about as useful.

I've been in a lyrics-posting mood lately.

I guess now is as good a time as any to tell all my friends that I love them.
I'll try to send postcards and update my LJ as often as I can!

In these turbulent times, it's important to remember the things that really matter. MD is here to help.

ER - Thurs., 9/25 @10pm
Smallville - Wed., 10/1 @8pm
Angel - Wed., 10/1 @9pm
24 - Tues., 10/28 @9pm
That '70s Show - Wed., 10/29 @8pm

This weekend, I believe, is the Sex and the City finale as well as the premiere of Carnivale. Who wants to tape it for me? Going once, going twice...

I can't believe this is pretty much all that is left of my shows. Maybe I should start watching something new. I hear that Everwood is good, and The OC looks like possibly entertaining garbage. And everyone's always trying to get me into Alias. Knowing me, I'll get into it in the 5th season when it's teetering on the bubble.
