EW Pop Culture Quiz
Mar. 31st, 2005 03:22 pmHas anyone tried Entertainment Weekly's latest Pop Culture Quiz? It's absurdly difficult. And it's not fair to call it a pop culture quiz, it's really more of a "how many movies have you seen and memorized" quiz. Example:
7. What's the name of the Amish family Harrison Ford's character protects in Witness?
40. Bud and Sissy ride the mechanical bull in what real-life Texas club in Urban Cowboy?
60. What is the name of the mail-order company Diane Keaton's character starts from her Vermont home in Baby Boom?
97. In Get Shorty, what car is called the "Cadillac of minivans"?
I have seen 3 out of 4 of the above-mentioned movies and I couldn't possibly answer any of these questions. And these aren't just the hard ones, more than half of them are like that! Can you name the only 3 westerns ever awarded best Oscar? I can think of one, maybe two. Then there's a Star Wars quiz. I have seen the original trilogy many times but even I don't know what country the first day of filming took place in, or the unit number of the trash compactor room from Star Wars, or what friggin number moon of Yavin serves as the base of operations for the Rebels during the final attack on the Death Star in Star Wars. Oy.
By the way, if you know the answers to any of the aforementioned questions, don't tell me - I haven't scored my test yet and want to go over it one more time.
Oh, and you can preorder Lost on DVD already. I still don't even know what's going on in that show, jeez.
