Random funny memory moment.
Oct. 6th, 2006 02:22 pmI probably shouldn't be trying to type with a brand new manicure but here goes.
I just had a funny moment. While getting my manicure, I was watching their TV, which was tuned to New York 1. Watching one of the reporters, Roger Clark, it suddenly hit me that Roger was a counselor at the Central Queens Y when I was a camper there -- must have been 1985 or so. And not only was he a counselor, but he was the counselor of the boys group of the same age as mine and he actually had a hand in the infamous stunt in which, during a camp overnight, the counselors pulled a practical joke on me by carrying my 7-or-so-year-old sleeping self away from the group and leaving me in a hammock with one of the boys. They thought it was hysterical. I was not so amused! (And I also just noticed, he's also a Stuy grad! Ha!)
But heh, I'm still amused to see that Roger has gone and made name for himself in TV newscasting. I wonder if he'd remember that incident at all!
