I'm so lazy about posting the rest of the things Nathan and I did after my 2 days at work...here's a little pictorial though:
While I was bored at work last Tuesday, Nathan was puttering around the city doing things like visiting the main branch of the NY Public Library:

And after meeting me for lunch, he went to Rockefeller Center to see the tree:

That night was The View gig. The next day, I went back to work to be bored again while Nathan went to the MOMA:

After work we met up at the Marriott Marquis for cocktails at The View Lounge (no relation to the band).

That night we had sushi with my family at Tako in Forest Hills. Nathan liked it.

On Thursday we went to the Bronx Zoo. It was a beautiful day and there was a lot to see even if a lot of the exhibits were closed.
I decided Nathan is a tiger because he has a big noggin and is ginger too.

Nathan stares down and chases a peacock:

Afterwards we went to Union Square and bought groceries for dinner at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I made kale, white bean and sausage cassoulet. Nathan went out to get cream cheese and bagels for the next morning and returned with rolls, not knowing the difference. :) So we ate them with dinner. After dinner we watched Office Space.

Nathan had been nursing a cold all week, and on Friday morning he woke up feeling most crappy. I went out and got him cold medicine, then came back and made pumpkin muffins. We then went to meet my mother to see the Frick Collection. I don't think I've ever been to the Frick, and to be honest I wasn't even aware of its existence. It's fairly small, but a nice peaceful place. After the Frick, we had lunch with my mom at a great little cafe where Nathan and I had yummy spinach pies and I had the most wonderful raspberry tart. :) After that, mom went home and we went on to the Met. Nathan wanted to see the modern art there. We had been trying to make plans to go out to Chumley's with Emily and her boy and David and his girl, but it didn't work out, and it was just as well because we were tired and ended up going home to rest up for a bit after the museum. We went back out later and had dinner and drinks at Chumley's and the White Horse Tavern. I am lacking in pictures from this day...oh well.

On Saturday we went up to Rockland County, where we met Denise and saw her new motorbike. (Look at me sounding all British.) Then we went to the Palisades Mall, where we were appalled by the grotesqueness of American commercial culture, the stupidity of Target employees, and the lack of any good calendars for sale anywhere. :b

Then we met up with Cherene and Ricky to go bowling at Lucky Strike, the brand spankin' new alley at the mall. We had to wait for over an hour for a lane, but we didn't care because there was a bar and food and so we drank pints of Blue Moon and snacked on cheeseburger fries. Then we bowled two games.

Nathan had the highest score both games. I bowled terribly (didn't crack 50 either game) but it didn't matter, I still had fun.

They had these little fake candles and...and...well maybe you had to be there. ;)
