And jetlagged all to hell... hence my being awake at this hour. My room is an utter mess. Now I need to finish this move so I can move on with my life. It's just weird being "home" again, knowing that I have a new home to go to that doesn't quite feel like home yet. Let's hope the big cockroaches don't throw me a welcome back party.

I just finished calculating all the money I spent on this trip and while I am near broke, I was relieved to see I didn't actually spend more money than I have. Go me. I bought so much friggin crap, it's amazing.

Still, I am happy. Crazed, but happy that I went, and happy to be back. I can't wait to develop all my pictures and post them! Till then, here's some of the more interesting ones from my crappy digital camera (it only held about 50 pics).

Before it all flies out of my mind, I want to do something kind of silly. I want to write down all the names I can remember of all the cool people I met on my trip, who all contributed in their own little way to making it an outstanding time:

Morgan, who shared his pitchers of funky brown cocktail at the Zoo Bar in London.

Nigel and Jim ("I am William Wallace!") at that dingy cheap pub in Edinburgh on our first night in Scotland.

Dez (Dennis?) the Irish birthday boy and his friends who sat with us and karaoked at the Three Sisters in Edinburgh.

Fraser Walsh from Glasgow, his friend Kirsten Bland and their Canuck friend Dan (never trust a) Campbell, who we met on our Haggis Flexitour. Also Cindy, Shannon, Birgit, and our driver grumpy Graeme, and everyone I played spoons with at Farr Cottage in Corpach.

All the locals, Canadians, Germans, Belgians and what-have-you who partied with us in Portree on the Isle of Skye.

Martin, Dennis, Rudy, Dominic and of course *Jakob* (heart) on our final unforgettable night in Portree.

Jacqui from New Zealand who helped me so much with planning my trip to Orkney; she is a wonderful person and a real lifesaver.

Shona at Sandra's Backpackers in Thurso, as well as Sandra and George, for taking me out to the local pub for some good craic when I was on my own on the Northern coast of Scotland.

My intrepid and perpetually adorable companion, Aggis MacHaggis, who I rescued from souvenier shop servitude in the Loch Ness town of Drumnadrochit who accompanied me all the way up to the Orkneys and then back to New York. :-)

And of course, Shoshana, without whom I probably never would have gone on this trip. Shosh-- let me know if I missed any!

Edited 9/30 to add Shosh's comments: Read more... )

My cable isn't working, and the cable company can't even find my new apartment in their system to turn the cable on in there. So where am I supposed to watch the Smallville/Angel premieres this Wednesday?? What's a goddess to do??!!!
