I am totally freaking out. I just found that my Yahoo account has been hacked. I found out when I tried to post an email from Yahoo Groups and it came up as from "Steve." I went and looked and my profile has indeed been hacked by a proud 18-year-old named Steve, claiming to be part of some contest and even leaving a website address. I was somehow able to change my personal info back to my own name, but every time I click on "My Account" it asks me to confirm my password and IT DOESN'T WORK. I am afraid to sign out of my email for fear I won't be able to get back in. And worst of all, I have found no way at all of contacting Yahoo about the problem. One of the IT guys is on the case, but he hasn't found anything yet either. Can anyone help me PLEEEEEEEEASE???

Date: 2005-10-03 07:31 pm (UTC)And my very nice but unhelpful IT guy has suggested I move my account elsewhere from Yahoo. Thanks, dude, but totally not helpful at the moment. Plus, that's been my email address forever. I like a lot of things about Yahoo, I don't WANNA move.

You know, these stupid idiot teenagers with brilliant computer minds. If they would only apply themselves to something worthwhile, we could probably have the best intelligence in the world. Wankwrs (sic).
