Random Liz Phair thought

I was listening to Whitechocolatespaceegg this morning and I thought it was funny how "Shitloads of Money" is one of the last tracks on the album, kinda like a foreboding that she wanted to sell out.
It's nice to be liked
But it's better by far to get paid
I know that most of the friends that I have
Don't really see it that way
But if you could give em each one wish
How much do you want to bet
They'd wish success for themselves and their friends
And that would include lots of money
Hmmmm....

And the CD is enhanced with an EP, and I've heard that those songs are way better than the ones on the new album (some of them are older previously unreleased tracks.) However, I can't listen to these songs, even though I desperately want to, because my computer has decided it no longer wants to play CDs. ARG!
I don't know why Liz's indie success wasn't enough for her or her record labels. She's had a solid following for 10 years. That's way more staying power than acts like, say, Ashanti, or Michelle Branch will have.
