My computer-free weekend

There's so much I feel I need to catch up on since I haven't been at a computer since Thursday. (It's been wonderful.) Somehow when I try to write down what happened this weekend, it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as it was. But it was a really great weekend.
Thursday night my friend George from college came down and we ate at Mama's, went to Luna Lounge, which was pretty dead, then went back to my apartment and drank copious amounts of rum and whiskey and bitched about our love lives. Denise actually got drunk, which almost never happens, and miraculously no one seemed too hung over the next day.
On Friday I headed to Allentown, PA with Nili and
cynima for a YJLC weekend, a weekend which, as Nili said, "was more fun than it had any right to be." Most of the people there were either really old, really ugly or really really socially inept. Actually, most of them were all three. (Hey, I'm not a mean person, I just tell it like it is.) As a result, all the normal girls on the trip (some were very much abnormal, and not in the good way) bonded together and much alcohol was consumed.
Friday night we watched the fireworks over Dorney Park, which were awesome. On Saturday we went whitewater rafting on the Lehigh River, which was really great. Luckily we met some very cool girls, Julie and Allison, who shared our boat with us. Also in our boat was a guy named Dave, a nice but pathetic schlub who lived in the area and was very good when we needed directions. Being on the river was wonderful. We also got out to swim a few times, and the current really just pulls you along.
Saturday night we were supposed to go to this murder mystery dinner show at the hotel, some spoof of The Osbournes, but the food (and most of the company) at the hotel sucked so we decided to skip the show and go to Friendly's instead. Later on we went to a club called Crocodile Rock where we saw an awesome cover band called Lima Bean Riot.
cynima liked the lead singer so Nili (who is gorgeous, btw) went over to him while
cynima and I were in the bathroom. We came out and Nili takes us over to him, introduces him to Andrea and he throws his arms around her and kisses her. What a golden moment. I asked him to play Def Leppard, and he got the band to play Pour Some Sugar on Me. One of the blonde hoochies dancing on the stage actually helped pull me up onto the stage with the band for the song. (We lasted about a minute before a bouncer threw us off, oh well.) Then the band played Let's Go Crazy (the Prince song) which was great because it's been in my head since we heard it at Harry's on Tuesday.
Sunday we went to Dorney Park with Allison and Julie, but since Nili was afraid of getting lost on the way back to NY we only got to go on 4 rides. I'm sorry we didn't get to go on any of the coasters, but I got my water slide, so I was happy. I still can't believe it's finally summer. But no matter how much sunblock I use, I am still red!
