Teen Witch and raw food

This morning I was almost late getting to work because I started watching Teen Witch on HBO and got completely sucked in. It's like the '80s threw up all over this movie. I simply couldn't turn away, waiting to see which '80s cliche I'd see next. It's about a redheaded teenage girl (played by Robin Lively) who uses witchcraft to become the most popular girl in school and get the guy. Then of course she realizes she wants him to like her for who she really is, breaks the spell, and gets him anyway. It's like The Craft for 8-year-olds. And the hair, oh my god, the hair, and the CLOTHES... men with jeans rolled halfway up their calves, stonewash, lace tutus, and tell me, what is the point of shoulderpads?? But the funniest thing by far was the music, with the Jody Watley-clone concert, white boys rapping, and saxophone love theme (oh Kenny G, where are you now?) :-D
In other news... last night I went with Shoshana to this raw foods restaurant, Quintessence. I had very low expectations for this place and fully expected to be grabbing pizza afterwards a la Carrie and Miranda on Sex and the City. But the food was really good! And *filling*! I had "spaghetti" al pesto, which was spaghetti squash with pesto and olives and sundried tomatoes and a really great salad. I highly recommend this place, there are a few of them throughout the city.
