It's midnight. People are dancing and cheering in the streets. My parents are drinking champagne.

Is it New Year's Eve?

Nope. It's Election Day.

I am so, so thrilled to be a part of this moment. If I ever have grandkids I finally have a happy historical moment to tell them about.

And I'm so happy to have a DVR so I can watch that speech again. :)

I'm just listening to the speech now. I'm very happy for you, and also very happy that I have no need to renounce my American citizenship which I was gravely considering were it to go the other way.

It totally felt like New Year's. I was gonna open my own bottle of champagne except it was like 2:00 in the morning when it occurred to me to do it, and I didn't want to be hung over at work today.

And I definitely know how you feel about telling your grandkids about this. I feel like we finally have our JFK moment.
